Unblock Australia (unblockvpn.au) is an independent informational website that provides VPN reviews, privacy guides, and digital rights resources for Australians. We are not affiliated with any government agency, ISP, or regulatory body.

We take privacy seriously — it's literally what this site is about. This policy explains exactly what data we collect, why, and what we do with it. We've written it in plain English, not legalese.

What Data We Collect

Email addresses (newsletter only)

If you voluntarily subscribe to our email newsletter, we collect your email address. That's it. We do not collect your name, phone number, location, or any other personal information through the newsletter signup.

Your email address is stored securely and used solely to send you privacy-related updates. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in every email. When you unsubscribe, your email is permanently deleted from our mailing list.

Basic analytics

We use privacy-respecting analytics to understand how people use this site. This helps us know which articles are useful and where to focus our efforts. Our analytics collect:

Affiliate links are tagged with tracking parameters so the VPN provider knows the referral came from us. This means the VPN provider knows you clicked a link on our site. We do not receive any information about you from the VPN provider — we only receive confirmation that a sale occurred and the commission amount.

Cookies

We use minimal cookies:

• Essential cookies: Required for basic site functionality (e.g., remembering if you've dismissed a popup). These do not track you.

• Affiliate networks: We participate in affiliate programmes with VPN providers including NordVPN, Surfshark, ExpressVPN, and Proton VPN. Clicking affiliate links directs you to their sites, which are governed by their own privacy policies.

What We Do NOT Do
